Staying informed, talking with those involved in the everyday workings of the town, and getting to know members of this community are an important role of a Council Member. I have been working hard to learn even more about this town, what it has to offer its residents, and where improvements can be made. If elected, I will continue to keep an open form of communication with not only community leaders, but residents of our town. You are always welcome to reach out to me (Contact Me). I will be the one to ask questions and seek answers!

Email from Senator Lazzara
As Holly Ridge grows, it is important to work together to manage this growth. That is why I reached out to North Carolina State Senator, Michael Lazzara, to find out what resources the state can offer Holly Ridge as development occurs. His response shows a willingness for local and state governments to work together in creating a better community and guide sensible growth. It is nice to know Senator Lazzara will work with Holly Ridge, and if elected I will seek out his support.
Liberty Festival & Fireworks
My family and I had a great time at the Liberty Festival. The day began with the unveiling of our new town logo and ended with an amazing fireworks display. In between, there were lots of fun activities for the kids, vendors to shop from, great live music, and food trucks.
The Liberty Festival and Fireworks is a great community event that brings everyone together. It is also a great opportunity to show visitors what Holly Ridge has to offer, including the spacious Municipal Park.
Holly Ridge Fire and Rescue
I had the privilege of visiting Chief Longo and the Holly Ridge Fire and Rescue team. I gained a lot of good information about the services offered, the state of equipment, and possible plans for the future. These plans include a transition to a full-time, municipal fire department. As Holly Ridge grows so does the need for emergency services. If elected, I plan to make this a main priority.
Did you know, the Insurance Service Office issues a fire score that determines how well the fire department can protect your community and home. The ISO score plays an important part in setting homeowners insurance rates. Chief Longo has helped improve this score and lower insurance costs for Holly Ridge homeowners.
I am amazed at the selflessness of Chief Longo and his fellow firefighters. As a volunteer department they put their lives on the line every day to keep Holly Ridge safe.
Holly Ridge Police Department
The boys and I had the great pleasure of speaking with Chief Sorg of the Holly Ridge Police Department. From our conversation, I can tell we are in good hands. Chief Sorg has worked hard to modernize the police force. With his forward thinking he is ready to protect and serve an ever-changing, diverse community. We spoke about the construction of a government complex, where police, muncipal government, and emergency services can work together to provide high quality services to the citizens of Holly Ridge. Chief Sorg and his officers have my full support. I will strive to provide resources so Chief Sorg can continue keeping our community safe. Through more community outreach I hope we can all get to know Chief Sorg and the Holly Ridge Police Department.
Meeting with Town Manager, Heather Reynolds
I had a very informative meeting with the Town of Holly Ridge Town Manager, Heather Reynolds! My goal was to learn about her role, the workings of the town council, and the services Holly Ridge provides its residents. Moreover, I was extremely interested in learning about possible future plans and sharing my ideas with Ms. Reynolds.
There are so many amazing plans for our town that need to come to fruition. For example, I would love to see the ideas of a biking/walking path to connect us to Surf City, a splash park for our kids, park development of Morris Landing, expanded Emergency services, our own youth programs, a municipal center, and a true downtown come to life. Again, I am all for development of Holly Ridge, but in a sensible, well thought manner that benefits those that are living here already! Ms. Reynolds is a true asset to the town and keeps Holly Ridge running smoothly.
